Jim Terry is a motivated and goal-oriented individual. Jim has been training at Creighton MMA and Fitness Academy for many years in the fitness area. As part of his daily routine, Jim sets daily goals that help him stay on course for his annual goal achievements.

In January 2014 Jim set a goal to stay consistent and get in 121 individual fitness training sessions. As often is the case, life then threw the unexpected at Jim. He was told he needed to have open heart surgery- a triple bypass this past July 2014. I remember Jim coming in to train the day he told me the news. Obviously I could see that he was very concerned about this, but what impressed and inspired me was that he still had the positive mental attitude that I had come to always associate with him.

After the surgery, Jim began his road to recovery ...step by step and one day at a time. He began his physical therapy sessions at St. Josephs and came back into the academy 8-10 weeks later. When Jim came in he was very determined to STILL accomplish his goal of 121 training sessions for 2014.

We sat down on many occasions, created a plan and saw it through. This is such a GREAT story because it shows the power of PMA ( positve mental attitude). Jim set a goal and reached it AFTER making huge adjustments due to unexpected obstacles.

Most people would have fallen short and/or quit…and noone would have faulted them for it. Jim kept pushing forward and figured out HOW he COULD get it done and he succeeded. This is how success is created not only in fitness, but in life. "Consistency creates your road to success"... Congratulations Jim, we are all very proud of you at Creighton MMA & Fitness Academy..smileysmiley
