You’re Never Too Old to Start Jiu-Jitsu
Joe didn’t begin training BJJ until he was 68 years old. At an age when most people would never consider starting a martial art, Joe stepped onto the mats and began learning.
He trained alongside people who were often decades younger than him, yet he kept showing up, kept learning, kept improving—and eventually earned his Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 80!!!!!
Joe’s journey is also a powerful reminder that age doesn’t have to be a barrier to training BJJ. Finding the right academy, the right coaches, and, most importantly, training partners who understand how to train with people of different ages and abilities can make all the difference.
How cool is that?
Joe started BJJ at 68 and still managed to earn his Purple Belt in his 80's.
It’s never too late to start. It’s never too late to learn. And it’s never too late to become part of the BJJ family.
OSS, Joe!
