People always say to me that “they are to old to start training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu”! Well, I disagree. That is a limitation that they only put on themselves. Standing in this picture is our amazing students and friends Joe Shaginaw 78, Roland Couillard 73 and Dan Shapiro 71 for a combined age of 222 years!! These three guys are simply amazing and an inspiration to us all. Each one has their own story which includes beating cancer multiple times, many surgeries, knee and hip replacements, as well as major heart surgery and even passing away during surgery for 26 minutes and coming back to life!! Age and major set backs didn’t stop any one of these guys. They always found their way back to the mats, and never made excuses. Jiu-jitsu is a lifestyle that helps us all in different ways. Nothing but RESPECT for these 3 men and I look forward to many more years on the mats with each one of you!!
